FAQs

How do I organise my walk?

+
-

Have a think about your route and distance. Would you like to start and finish in a particular place? Or plan a round trip with some landmarks along the way? Have a think about distance, too. If you're hoping to walk as a group, plan a distance that feels challenging but achievable for all involved. Once you’re settled on the challenge, follow our steps above to get started.

How do I fundraise?

+
-

The best and easiest way to fundraise is by creating a JustGiving page. All donations raised via your page will come through to us automatically, and you’ll have a link you can easily share with family and friends via email, WhatsApp and social media.

What support will I receive?

+
-

Let us know you’re fundraising for us and we’ll be on hand to support you all the way, with guidance, resources and top tips. Our expert team are here to make sure you have all the tools and confidence you need to make your fundraising a success. We can also send you your own Anthony Nolan t-shirt to wear for your walk!

Is there a minimum fundraising target?

+
-

There isn’t! Set a target that you’re comfortable with in the knowledge that everything you raise will make a lifesaving difference. Remember, for every £40 you raise this could help us add another potential lifesaver to our register.

I already have a place in a walking event. Can I fundraise for Anthony Nolan?

+
-

We’d be delighted if you’d like to fundraise for Anthony Nolan with your event place! To get started, we would suggest creating a JustGiving page, and if you need any support at all, or have any questions, you can reach out to our Events team at events@anthonynolan.org

It was a tough challenge because I only counted the 'extra' miles I walked on top of my usual steps, and I kept track of everything on my fitness watch and a very big spreadsheet! I finished my 1,000 mile challenge by walking the final mile with my dad and mum on New Year's Eve 2024 and it was such a joyful experience with a huge sense of achievement.

I would recommend this style of longer-term challenge to anyone, but it's perfect for people (like me!) who have busy schedules and perhaps can't commit to walking an exact distance in a shorter period.
