Our biannual grants programme offers up to £8,000 for innovative projects focused on educating and recruiting lifesaving donors to the stem cell register. Applicants will receive dedicated support through a relationship manager, training, and ongoing check-ins. With a total of £30,000 available annually, we aim to fund up to 15 projects each year, empowering new partners to deliver impactful, community-based initiatives.
Who can apply?
The Anthony Nolan Grant Programme accepts applications for funding from £500 to £8,000. The projects must run for at least three months and for a maximum of 12 months. We encourage applications from organisations who work with young people aged between 16-30, young men in particular or people from minority ethnic backgrounds. We welcome projects from organisations with and without experience of raising awareness and recruiting to the stem cell register.
What we can fund
The Grant Programme is designed to support projects that will ultimately result in potential donors being educated about Anthony Nolan’s stem cell register and being empowered to make an informed decision about signing up. The projects must work within at least one of our target audiences; young people between the ages of 16-30, young men and young people from minority ethnic backgrounds.
We are particularly interested in funding projects that are co-designed or co-delivered alongside one or more of these audiences. We recognise this project may be outside the normal range of what your organisation delivers, therefore 50% of the total funding can be used to cover additional staffing costs.
What we can't fund
We are unable to fund projects retrospectively once they have already been carried out. We would also be unable to fund projects that are working in tandem with other UK stem cell registries. Lastly, we cannot fund projects from organisations that are currently affiliated to Anthony Nolan in another way (e.g. Marrow groups).
How do I apply?
Someone from your organisation must complete the application form – ideally a person who would be involved in delivering the project. This could be a member of staff, a volunteer or a beneficiary of the organisation.
