This is such a flexible way to sign people up to the register and can work in a huge range of settings! Take it to work and have a lifesaving lunch to get colleagues signed up, or bring along to your book group, BBQ or sign up friends at the gym. If you’re running a fundraising event for Anthony Nolan from a bake sale to a ball, you could add Letterbox Lifesavers on to that. It’s entirely up to you where you use the kit, and there’s a quick training session included, so you’ll be super confident to start saving lives.
Letterbox Lifesavers is an incredibly easy way to support this wonderful charity by increasing the number of people on the register and raising awareness. We’ve had great success with our Letterbox Lifesaver events, as the charity's mission aligns perfectly with our company values and it’s also a fantastic way to utilise your allocated corporate volunteering days.

Resources that support Letterbox Lifesaver events
A Letterbox Lifesavers kit contains everything you need to sign up 20 people aged 16 to 30 to the stem cell register:
- Full instructions for you to lead the event and leaflets for applicants explaining everything they need to know to join the register.
- Swab wallets with QR codes that are scanned with mobile phones and link to our register application form. The QR codes go ‘live’ when you want the event to start then stay live for seven days but can’t be scanned after this point. This means you can give out the swab kits over a few days, rather than having to get everyone signed up on one day.
- Pens so applicants can write their details on their wallet before they scan the QR code, and to write their confirmation code on the wallet once the form is complete.
- Cheek swabs – each person uses a pack of three swabs to swab the inside of their cheeks before they are sealed in their wallet.
- Freepost return envelopes for each applicant to put their sealed wallet in and pop in any post box.
- Stickers to proudly wear after signing up!
We’ll make sure you have everything you need for your event to be a real success and will be on hand to help if you need it! You can find lots of ideas about how to promote your Letterbox Lifesavers event in our resources area.
