180 supporters took on the hottest London Marathon on record to help Anthony Nolan cure blood cancer. #TeamAN, who ran for a number of personal reasons, are on track to raise more than £500,000 for the charity. #TeamAN included:
Holly Cross ran in tribute to the anonymous bone marrow donor who saved her son’s life. Holly aims to raise £10,000 for Anthony Nolan which found the match for nine-year-old Rupert, to stop his blood disorder developing into leukaemia. Rupert, who had his transplant 18 months ago and is back at school, cheered his mum on (pictured).
Tom Niblock, a Liverpool FC fan took on the London Marathon for Anthony Nolan after we helped find him a stem cell donor to treat his Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in 2013. Tom was able to receive his lifesaving stem cell transplant six years ago, at the age of just 21.
Philip Powell, AKA Darth Vader, had the force with him when he took on the London Marathon in full Sith uniform. Philip decided to go for a world record attempt after his brother underwent a stem cell transplant earlier this year.

“The funds they have raised will enable us to recruit potential stem cell donors to the Anthony Nolan register – any one of whom could give a second chance of life for someone with blood cancer.”
