Skiddle, the UK's biggest what's on guide and leading ticket agent has raised a staggering £15,345 for Anthony Nolan through its checkout donation scheme.
With each ticket purchase, customers are given the opportunity to add a £1 donation and they responded with overwhelming generosity.
As well as financial support, Skiddle promoted Anthony Nolan in their newsletter and on their website and encouraged their customers and staff to join the Anthony Nolan register.
Anthony Nolan was put forward to be a beneficiary of the scheme by Skiddle’s Head of Content and Communication, Jimmy Coultas, who donated stem cells to his brother. Jimmy said “We wanted to run with a charity that our customers felt connected to, and the over-whelming reaction from them was to go with Anthony Nolan. I've personally been affected as my brother has twice been diagnosed with leukaemia, the second time with him needing a transplant, and I ended up being his donor”.
Laura Parsell, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Anthony Nolan, said: “We’d like to say an enormous thank you to Skiddle and their lovely customers for giving so generously. It costs Anthony Nolan £100 to recruit each person to our register so the money raised will enable us to recruit 150 more potential donors and give more people with blood cancer the chance of life. We can’t thank everyone enough for their fantastic support”.
