'One thing will get me across that finish line - the bravery of my son Ryan.'
Stuart Ferguson is running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon for Anthony Nolan after they helped save the life of his three-year-old son, Ryan.
In August 2011, Stuart was told his little boy had leukaemia, and that his only hope was a stem cell transplant – if a matching donor could be found. So while Ryan went into hospital to start chemotherapy, Anthony Nolan began the worldwide search for that vital match.
Thankfully, Anthony Nolan found a donor for Ryan and he now has a fighting chance. But there are still 1,600 people with cancer who we can’t help. That’s why Stuart is taking on the Virgin London Marathon. And that’s why he needs your sponsorship.
It costs £100 to recruit, tissue type and look after each new donor on tothe Anthony Nolan register. By sponsoring Stuart, you will help us find more of these remarkable individuals, and save more lives.
Through Virgin Money Giving, all donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit organisation and will claim Gift Aid on the charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible. Thank you for your support and generous donations.
