This September, Anthony Nolan is working with Bright Red, Cure Leukaemia, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and Myeloma UK for the UK’s first ever Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Nearly 30,000 people this year will be given the devastating news that they have blood cancer. Blood cancers don’t discriminate and can affect anyone, at any time. They can be difficult to diagnose, complex to treat and are often life-threatening.

That’s why blood cancer charities across the country are coming together to ensure that every blood cancer patient in the country receives the best possible information, treatment and care, in order to give them the greatest chance of survival.

Through research, we’ve been able to better understand blood cancers, how to diagnose them and in turn, found better ways to treat them. Collectively the charities involved in Blood Cancer Awareness Month have invested many millions of pounds to improve treatment for blood cancer – but there is still more to do. We want to save the life of every single person with blood cancer – and we need your support to do that.

This month, it’s your turn to make a difference. Sign up as a blood or bone marrow donor or raise vital funds for your chosen research charity, and help us give those affected by blood cancer the chance of a future. Follow the awareness month on twitter at #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth
