Anthony Nolan is delighted to announce that we have been chosen as the official charity for Onrec Conference and Exhibition 2013 in a match that will see both partners benefit from each other’s knowledge of very different recruitment sectors.
As Anthony Nolan focuses on online recruitment of bone marrow (or stem cell) donors, we will benefit from Onrec’s expertise in the field of online employment recruitment. Onrec aims to find the perfect candidate for the job and can learn from Anthony Nolan’s recruitment strategy based on finding the best donor matches for blood cancer patients.
Anthony Nolan will receive a percentage of conference tickets sales throughout August as part of the partnership as well as a complimentary stand at the conference giving attendees the chance to join the bone marrow register in person.
Anthony Nolan will also be hosting a talk at the conference on how they recruit, match and communicate with potential donors. Methods have come a long way since the charity was founded in 1974, when their records were all hand-filed on index cards.
Lila Dowie, Anthony Nolan’s Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, says, ‘The science behind how we recruit donors and the algorithms we use to match them to patients is very similar to the online recruitment industry. We look forward to sharing how we measure the impact of our recruitment and also our challenges and learning. At the same time, it costs Anthony Nolan £100 to recruit each new person as a bone marrow donor, so Onrec’s support will help us to save more lives. It really is a perfect match.’
David Hurst, CEO of Onrec.com, says , ‘We are delighted to have Anthony Nolan as our conference charity. Their impressive ability to match donors to people needing transplants has great synergy with the online recruitment industry, matching candidates to jobs.’
