Anthony Nolan has welcomed the latest study from the Institute of Cancer Research which has uncovered clues to the origins of childhood leukemia (reported by the BBC).
‘This promising research into identical twins could ultimately pave the way for new and improved treatments for children with the most common form of leukemia,‘ said Dr Robert Lown, Medical Officer at Anthony Nolan.
‘Any medical advances which mean that young people do not have to go through unnecessary and often unpleasant side effects from current drugs are vital steps in the fight against this disease.’
